Pituophis deppei is commonly known as the Mexican pine snake, it is a species of nonvenomous colubrid snake endemic to Mexico. There are two recognized subspecies. Deppei Deppei and Deppei Jani. The name Deppei come from the German Artist Ferdinand Deppe, who collected natural history specimens in Mexico, and the name Jani is in honor of Italian herpetologist Giorgio Jan.
Look at the color on these guys. They are by far my favorite of the Deppei. l have always thought they were one of the best looking of all the Pituophis.
